2015 RedBud MX | The Bangers

“The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship headed north for round seven at the famed RedBud MX in Buchanan, Michigan, this past weekend. Everyone looks forward to RedBud every year—the fans are absolutely wild, the track is mint for not only riding but shooting as well, and it’s always around the Fourth of July. The course this year was probably one of my favorite designs with small changes to the south side of the track. The track owners do an excellent job every year to make sure the layout is absolutely on point. Everything is mowed perfectly and they even bring some sod in for the sides of some table tops and spray paint “Red Bud” on it. The fans are always crazy and it was probably the largest RedBud crowd that I’ve ever seen with perfect temperatures on Saturday in the low 80’s. The 250 title chase heated up with Marvin Musquin having an off weekend and Jeremy Martin going 1-1 to grab the red plate back and a 7 point lead over Musquin. In the 450 class, Justin Barcia kept his momentum alive from his BuddsCreek win to take the overall with a 2-1 score over points leader Ryan Dungey. We’re off for a weekend and then it’s back at it in Minnesota at the home of the Martin brothers, Spring Creek Raceway!” —TWMX photographer, Ryne Swanberg
