The 2015 Monster Energy Supercross Series continued on, with stop fifteen taking place at the all-new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This was our second visit to the Bay Area this year and we’ll go ahead to say this facility is a step above what we see at the O.co Coliseum in nearby Oakland. Maybe it’s the delicious food, the cutting-edge amenities, or the lack of barbed wire surrounding the venue, but we hope to walk through the gates a few more times in the coming years.
Still everything great about the stadium couldn’t draw fans to watch the action firsthand. There were plenty of vacant seats at the start of the night and even more midway through the 450 feature. With only two more stops left in the season, we really hope this isn’t a sign of things to come.
The biggest news of the weekend was Monster Energy Kawasaki’s sudden termination of Davi Millsaps, for what we’ve learned to be a bottle of medicine found in the team trailer while it was parked at Kawasaki HQ on Tuesday night. That’s about all we know, since there are two sides to every story and both keeping quiet on many details in case of a possible legal battle regarding wrongful termination. With Millsaps gone and Wil Hahn preparing for the Nationals, Monster Energy Kawasaki has made the decision to pull their rig from the road for the final rounds. Millsaps still came to the race with intentions of finding a new ride for the summer, and we spotted him in talks with more than a few teams.
