Remember the days when you would pull up to the track, roll down the windows, and be greeted with the sweet aroma that was put off by a two-stroke? It’s almost a distant memory for most of us, but it’s a moment that we will all cherish so dearly. Those were the days. As four strokes started to gain in popularity, the once almighty two-banger started to slowly dwindle away, almost to the point of extinction. Fortunately enough, few brands still kept the two-stroke lineup alive, including Yamaha. As most can recall, though, the Yamaha YZ125 and 250 didn’t see that many changes since 2005. The same look; the same billboard side plastics; but that was until today.
Yamaha invited us out to Glen Helen Raceway today to unveil their all-new 2015 YZ125 and 250s, which featured updated plastics and forks. Then to top it off, Yamaha had Glen Helen perfectly prepped and groomed for us so that we could let those two-bangers sing!
