The 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Series has moved to California’s Bay Area for round four to take place on Saturday at O.co Coliseum. There is a long history of motorcycle racing in this area, especially this venue, and this weekend’s layout should allow for more incredible battles in both classes. Dirt Wurx has played with the usual elements and obstacles for the Oakland track, as they’ve ditched the standard “triple” and have brought in the iconic over-under bridge. Riders will have to traverse a soft sand section, long rhythms, and two whoop sections that are hopefully be gnarly but not as tough as they were just a week ago.
Now, there is one new element that could change the weekend up for everyone: rain. A weather front moved through the area early Friday morning and is set to stay over the city for the duration of the day, which could make the traditionally soft soil into an even softer and more technical mess.
Have a look at the layout below, either by computer rendered drawing or by following along with the animated track map. Either way, you’ll get an idea of what to expect on Saturday night.
