After a one week break, the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Series resumes this Saturday with round eleven set to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This will be the second time that SX runs in the state of the art venue, which features many amenities that are inspired by the technology of nearby Silicon Valley.
The fifteen-lap 250 main event will likely be the highlight of the night, because it’s both the first time the West Coast SX Championship riders have lined up in more than a month and the last “regular” feature in their schedule. The guy that comes away with the points lead will certainly have an advantage in the Shootout final race, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Last year’s dirt in Santa Clara was traditional California hard pack, due in part to the bright sun and dry weather of the week prior. It’s also worth noting that this is one of the few “football” fields on the West Coast, which is the reason for the long lanes and numerous 180-degree turns.
