Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna has announced Martin Davalos will sit out the 2017 Ironman MX, the final round of the 2017 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Davalos injured his knee in a crash during the second moto at the 2017 Budds Creek MX and a doctor’s recommendation has been to keep weight off of the damaged joint.

Davalos made the move to the 450 class this summer with Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna and excelled through the latter stages of the summer with a number of top-ten moto finishes and two overall podium finishes, which puts him seventh overall in the championship standings coming into the weekend.

Davalos is coming to the end of his current contract with Rockstar Energy Racing Husqvarna and due to changes to the team’s lineup, will not return in 2018.
