2017 MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS
SEPTEMBER 29TH – OCTOBER 1ST
The 2017 Motocross of Nations is less than a month away and we’re eagerly awaiting our trip to England for this year’s race. Matterley Basin will again play host to the international event, as the Winchester circuit is close to major cities (London and Southampton), offers exceptional racing on the track, and has clear sight lines for the thousands of fans that will line the fences. Matterley Basin is a common round of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship but to best prepare for this year’s race, they elected out of holding a round of the MXGP series. With the added time, the track has undergone slight modifications from its old routing. A rendering of the new layout is posted below.
The obstacles that are scattered the English hillside are diverse and will test riders, as they require equal parts technique and fearlessness. Check out GoPro footage from last year’s round of the MXGP series to get a better idea of just how big the jumps are…
