Chris Alldredge has posted an update on his health after the Barn Pros Racing/Yamaha rider suffered a hard crash during practice at the 2017 Seattle SX. While flying through one tricky rhythm lane, Alldredge crashed on his own and landed on the face of a jump in the section, but was then struck in the torso by the full force Shane McElrath and his Troy Lee Designs/GoPro/Red Bull/KTM. It was instantly clear that Alldredge was in bad shape and officials threw a red flag on the practice session so that medics could properly tend to the downed rider.

Alldredge suffered multiple injuries in the incident. Per the post on Instagram, Alldredge is currently in the hospital with a partially collapsed lung, air in his chest, a Grade One laceration to the liver and adrenal gland, fractured rib, fractured pelvis, and fractures to the L1, L2, L3, and L4 vertebra in his spine. Alldredge has no damage to his spinal cord and will spend the next few days in the hospital as doctors plan the next steps of his recovery. UPDATE: Alldredge was released from the hospital by the end of the weekend and returned home.
