While running in the top-ten during the 250 Main Event at the 2018 Anaheim One Supercross, Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM rider Alex Martin made a small mistake as he exited the whoop section and went over the banked turn at the end of the lane. Although the crash seemed small, Martin told swap during a How Was Your Weekend interview that the fall resulted in a fracture of his clavicle/collarbone. Since the interview came just moments after the moto, details about the injury were scarce, but it will no doubt have a large impact on his status as the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Series continues this weekend in Texas for the 2018 Houston Supercross.
UPDATE JANUARY 8TH: Martin has confirmed that second, more in-depth evaluation revealed that the fracture seen in Saturday’s night early scan was actually an old injury and that he did not fracture the clavicle as initially feared. How he feels and how soon he is able to return to racing remains to be determined.
Unfortunately I had a little get off in the main last weekend, we initially thought it was a fractured collarbone.. Upon further evaluation looks like that's not the case! Taking it day by day and hope we can heal up quick! Thanks everyone for the support. @tld_raceteam @jordantroxell 📷 @ryneswanberg
