As the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship comes to a close, it’s time for the series to hit one of the key stops of the schedule in Maryland with the 2018 Budds Creek Motocross. Located in a steep valley just outside the nation’s capital, Budds Creek has hosted the series for decades and has a rich history of championship and career deciding moments.
Getting around the tight first turn is only one of the challenges that riders face on the Budds Creek layout, which includes a sweeping turn of rollers, jumps that send riders up and down steep hills, and tight switchback sections that bunch up the field. Mix in some very unique soil that is soft and tacky in some spots but hard and slick in other sections, plus the standard East Coast humidity, and you have a very demanding moto to conquer. Have a look at the course for this weekend with the digital track map and an onboard lap from last year’s race with Jeremy Martin.
