Allier and Butron Win ROund One in Talavera

TALAVERA DE LA REINA (SPAIN), 6 April 2008- It was a great beginning of FIM MX3 World Championship and EMX2 European Championship in Talavera de la Reina this weekend. The sun was shining all the weekend and 129 riders were participating the first event this season. About ten thousand spectators and the organizer Moto Club Talavera were also very satisfied with the event. Only lots of injuries on a very hard race track were giving a grey shadow to the event, that was successful anyway.

In the FIM MX3 World Championship there are some new riders this season. And the first event has already shown us, that this season will be more than interesting. The winner of the first event was French Husqvarna rider Tomas Allier. He did the fastest start in the first race, but Czech Jan Zaremba and French Christophe Martin continued better. In the second race he won before Sven Breugelmans (KTM JM Racing Team) and so he became the winner of the first event for FIM MX3 World Championship. As Jan Zaremba did the first time in Saturday’s Qualifying practice, he shows to his rivals that he is very good prepared for this season. He won the first race, but in the second race he finished fifth position and he was second in the overall Classification. Sven Breugelmans finished third in Talavera and he was satisfied with his first result this season. Fourth and fifth position went to two riders, who return in the FIM MX3 World Championship. Fourth best rider was French Christophe Martin (Husqvarna), who is back after he injured his arm last season in FIM MX3 World Championship event in Slovakia. Italian Martin Honda rider Cristian Beggi finished on the fifth position. In the season 2006 he was the third best rider in FIM MX3 World Championship, but last season he participated in some MX1 World Championship events. This season he is back in MX3, where he would like to make one more successful season.

Tomas Allier: “This event was very good for me. It was my first time here in Talavera de la Reina and I was feeling very good on the race track. This season I will try to make the whole FIM MX3 World Championship. My factory team Husqvarna helps me a lot and I would like to thank everybody in my team for their big support.”

Jan Zaremba: “Now I am happy that I was listening them and I did a perfect race. I will also go to France next weekend, in two weeks we will have the event for Czech Championship and after I will clear up my goals for the season. I have also to say that the public here was perfect.”

Sven Breugelmans: “I am happy for the third place. The race track was very hard. We somehow could not find the right solution for make better preparation of the bike. But it is a good result and I hope I will continue in top three. The weather was hot and it was my first race in such conditions. In Belgium we had much lower temperatures. But the conditions were the same for all riders and I will not look for excuse in it.”

In the EMX2 European Championship the victory stays in Spain. The best was home riderr Jose Antonio Butron Oliva (Yamaha Gariboldi) with a second and a first place in the motos. He has been Spanish Champion for the seven times and he knows the race track in Talavera very well, because he had competed here for many times in his career. The second best in today’s classification was French rider Valentin Teillet, from KTM JM Racing Team. He is only seventeen years old and he is the youngest rider in that team. Third place goes to Arnaud Tonus from Switzerland (KTM). He did the best time in second race, when he finished 4.515 seconds behind the winner. Fourth and fifth best riders were Italians Marco Maddii (KTM) and Gianluca Martini (Suzuki).

Jose Antonio Butron Oliva: “I am very happy for this victory, especially because many of my fans were here today. In the first race I was second. But in the second race I won, because I felt very strong, especially in last five minutes and I think it was very important. I am also satisfied with my team. Everybody is helping me a lot. The Championship have fourteen races and if I will collect as many points as possible on each event, it could mean very good result at the end of the season.”

Valentin Teillet: “I think I did a good race today. My team is working very hard. I have to thank my mechanic and my team manager Jacky Martens of course. I have a very good bike for this season. It is nice to be in the team together with Sven Breugelmans and Alvaro Lozano, because they are very nice riders and I can learn a lot from them.”

Arnaud Tonus: “I did not expect such a good position today. But I did a good ride on the race track and I am very happy for my third position.”
