WHAT IT IS: The Alpinestars Tech 10 boot is the premier boot offering from the Apinestars lineup. With many of the current top professionals wearing them, they are tested week in and week out at the highest levels of competition. This particular LE color choice was made by none other than Trey Canard, who has spent plenty of time spinning laps in the Tech 10's. He joins the likes of Eli Tomac, Justin Barcia, and Ryan Villopoto in the custom Tech 10 color combo design department. If plain colors are your style, there are also 7 other non-LE color ways to choose from including plain black and plain white. When the top racers choose to ride and race in Tech 10's, you can be sure they are capable of anything you can throw at them.  “You can’t beat the durability, style and comfort of the Tech 10's. It's hard to get style, performance and protection in one boot but Alpinestars has done it. No-one else comes close." – Trey Canard

With key features like their signature inner boot system that you put on and then slip into the one piece outer shell, the design of the Tech 10 is really one of a kind. The buckle system has been improved over the years, and having just three buckles is simple and easy to operate. Riders can find piece of mind with the patented inner ankle brace that features medial and lateral "C" torsion bars to control ankle and leg rotation while still maintaining freedom of movement.

Here is a short excerpt from their website to summarize:

"The benchmark boot in motocross; the 2014 Tech 10 further advances the innovations that make it the most technical motocross boot ever conceived. From the anatomical shape, with front and rear sliding blades, to the all-new closure system featuring a light and durable buckle closure system, every component of the new Tech 10 boot has been continuously developed and tested in racing for uncompromised performance and durability."

HITS:

-These boots plenty of have style points with all of the colors in them, and you feel pretty "factory" when you are wearing the same boot as Trey Canard. It is cool that the average consumer can purchase these color ways and customize their style that much further.

-The three buckle system is simple and easy, and takes hardly any time to get the boots on.

-The inner boots that you put on your foot first are nice because they can be washed separately, and makes it less of a big deal worrying about water getting in the boots while washing the boot itself.

-The sole inserts are replaceable and Alpinestars offers a full sole replacement and boot repair service.

-Did we mention they look cool?!

MISSES:

-These boots felt stiff the first day of riding, so break in is needed. After a few motos they were noticeably better.

-Making sure the inner boot felt perfect on your foot and settled properly once the boot was on took a couple times to get used to. If you are not familiar with the removable boot liner this may feel different at first, but not necessarily uncomfortable.

THE VERDICT: When talking top of the line boots, there are just a few different companies that bring a product of this caliber to the line. The Alpinestars Tech 10 boot is a household name in this department, and for good reason. They look great, work even better, and the color options are wide open. The price of any top of the line boot can be a little intimidating, but the Tech 10 is a product proven time and time again from safety and durability standpoints that it is worth every penny. We would recommend these boots to any level rider looking for the highest level of boot technology, as they are ready to perform and just need a pair of feet put in them!
