Andrew Short was one of the American riders enlisted to race this weekend’s Geneva SX in Switzerland, but a recent post by his wife Jacki on Instagram breaks the news that he will not be making the trip due to a shoulder injury (AC joint and collarbone) that required surgery following a crash. Since Short had already made the move to California for final preparation before the start of the season, he was able to have respected surgeon Dr. Ting in San Jose repair the damage.
Another piece of news that’s confirmed by the post is that 2016 will be Short’s last year as a professional racer. While this has long been the discussed plan for the BTO Sports KTM rider, the caption indicates that this will in fact be the final year for the likable veteran.
Feel better, Shorty!
