The contract news is continuing to roll in as another rumored signing has been made official as of today. Alex Martin has been signed to a two-year deal with the Autotrader/Yoshimura/Suzuki Factory Racing Team for two years. At the moment, the plan appears to be for Martin to compete in the 250 SX and MX classes for both years. We had heard the news that this deal was in the works a few weeks back, but it was unclear how soon the announcement would be made.
Martin has already begun testing with the JGRMX squad at their base in North Carolina, but they have not yet received the 2019 Suzuki RM-Z250, which will be an all-new bike compared to the current model. We expect the team to make a big push in the 250 class with the arrival of the new bike, but at this time, Martin is the only confirmed 250 rider. At this time, it is believed that the team will once again field four total 250 riders in Supercross, two on each coast.
