Brian Deegan Within Grasp Of Global Rallycross Championship

October 5, 2012 - (LAS VEGAS, NV) - Renowned motocross athlete and Metal Mulisha founder "The General" Brian Deegan narrowed the gap for the crown in the Global Rallycross Championship series this weekend, finishing second place in the latest race. After dropping the lowest race score in the series, Deegan is only six points shy of teammate and rival Tanner Foust in grasping the title.

In Round 5 of the GRC, Brian's second place finish seats him in the second place position overall in the series. Brian claimed a heat race win and extra bonus points to put him within striking distance of the championship title. With 66 points total, after dropping the lowest race score, Brian's 6-point deficit to Tanner's 72 creates a sending ended dual for the Championship on October 30.

After realizing the narrow point gap between himself and Tanner, Brian stated, "It all comes down to me and Tanner at the SEMA Show, and this is where a champion will be decided, at the biggest platform in the auto industry."

The GRC Championship title is in reach for Brian or Tanner to claim; the latest round set the stage for too large a point differentiation for any other participant to win. The championship race will take place at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday, October 30th and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
