First-Ever Red Bull X-Fighters Stop on U.S. Soil


Santa Monica, Calif. (May 14, 2008) – Tickets are now on-sale for Red Bull X-Fighters Texas – the first-ever U.S. stop for the world’s premier, most-progressive freestyle motocross series. The third of five global series stops will take on a rodeo theme at the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards in Texas on Saturday night, June 14.

The invite list of world-class riders includes previous Red Bull X-Fighters winners Mat Rebeaud (Switzerland), Ronnie Renner (USA), Dany Torres (Spain) and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg (USA), as well as Matt Buyten (USA), Eigo Sato (Japan) and Thomas Pages (France), plus Robbie Maddison (Australia), the Guinness World Record holder for longest motorcycle jump. Rounding out the 12-rider competition will be the four riders who advance from a 10-rider qualifier on Friday, June 13.

The riders will be pushing the boundaries of freestyle motocross on a massive dirt course befitting the host state of Texas, and will test the high level of competition that is the hallmark of Red Bull X-Fighters. In addition to the two-wheeled aerial acrobatics, this is not your average freestyle motocross competition. When you involve rodeo, you get the full rodeo treatment – fireworks, rodeo queens, and bull riders will add an authentic Texas flavor to the event, making it truly a night to remember for spectators and riders alike.


In the series opener in Mexico City, Rebeaud claimed victory at the Monumental Plaza de Toros – the world’s largest bullfighting arena. Earlier this month, Stenberg samba’d his way to the win at the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro. Rebeaud leads the series point standings heading into Texas.

After the Fort Worth event, the series heads to Europe at the Steinbruch Oetelshof]en in Wuppertal, Germany on July 4 and concludes at the Plaza dde Toros de las Ventas in Madrid on July 17-18, where the overall series champion will be crowned.
