Friday FanFest to Kick-off Classic
“Limited number of Super Tickets still available”

(Prairie City, California)  With only a week left before the big show, the 41st Annual Hangtown Motocross Classic presented by Capitol Yamaha has been building with excitement with the news coming out from the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series.

Top factory riders, who were hurt or racing a limited schedule during the Supercross Series, are now ready to do battle outdoors.  No more racing on flat converted footballs field, we’re talking about real 30 minute handlebar-to-handlebar battles with three-story jumps and speeds exceeding 70 miles per hour.   If you can’t bank off a 45 degree uphill turn then you’re not talking about outdoor motocross racing.

In the 450 class, Mike Alessi, Andrew Short, Davi Millsaps, Ivan Tedesco and veterans Timmy Ferry and Kevin Windham will do battle with rookie contenders Josh Grant and Ryan Villopoto.  Joining the fray for the open title will be two-time AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed.  Yep boys and girls, the Australian native announced on Tuesday that hanging out all summer with Kangaroos is just not that much fun.

Slated for the 250 class this year is Supercross Champions Ryan Dungey and Christophe Pourcel.  Also gunning for a top podium spot in the lites class will be Nico Izzi, Brett Metcalfe, Trey Canard, Blake Wharton and Austin Stroupe.  Anyone of these guys on Saturday could be hosting some serious hardware.

And let’s not forget about the ladies.  The WMA has put together an eight race series with Hangtown as one of their top destinations.  18 year old Ashley Fiolek (pictured) will be back to defend her title.  Hoping to steal the spotlight will be five-time Women’s Champion Jessica Patterson, as well as Tarah Gieger and Sarah Whitmore.  Even on my best day, these women could smoke me and never get out of second gear.

Get your tickets to the biggest motocross show in town, go to  www.hangtownracing.com/.  If you’re from the Sacramento area, visit your local motorcycle dealer and get $5.00 off Saturday adult general admission tickets.  With many different ticket choices to choose from, and some with limited seating, make your selection online and beat the rush.
