GoPro Onboard | Jeremy Martin | 2014 Motocross of Nations Practice
After three days in Latvia, the real excitement is finally beginning. Tomorrow is the official start to the 2014 Motocross of Nations at Zelta Zirgs in Kegums, but a number of teams have used the free time this week to shake down their machines before the weekend’s action. On Thursday morning, we made the short drive from downtown Riga to rural Orge, where HRC Europe had rented the Mototrase circuit for their riders and Team USA. There is plenty of coverage still to come from the quick riding sessions on the sandy track, but we’ve already imported, edited, and uploaded the GoPro footage from Eli Tomac and Jeremy Martin’s final runs. Since Mototrase and Zelta Zirgs are roughly fifteen kilometers apart, the soil is nearly identical and offered the riders a perfect place to prepare.
Temperatures are a little low in Latvia, as the region has fallen right into autumn weather patterns. While 45-50 degrees doesn’t sound too terrible for many, the constant feel of rain in the air makes for very cold weather. As you will see in the video, Martin spent more than a few moments with his hands near the warm FMF Racing exhaust pipe in order to keep the feeling in his fingers.
Check back a bit later, when we will post interviews and a massive photo gallery from the morning.
