51FIFTY Energy Yamaha has announced that they have reached a contract extension with Hayden Mellross that keeps the rider and team together for a third year. Mellross, an Australian racer that is now based in the United States, will contest the 250 West Coast Region of the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Series aboard an energy drink-backed Yamaha YZ250F. Mellross was ranked eleventh overall in the 2017 250 West Coast Region final standings, but missed two rounds in the middle of the season.
Although the 51FIFTY Energy Yamaha has not yet made a confirmation announcement for a second rider, we have spotted Noah McConahy at test tracks in Southern California aboard one of their bikes.
