Jeremy Martin | Gear Check

New team, new look

2016 MXGP of USA At Glen Helen Saturday Practice Gallery - 22

Jeremy Martin debuted his new look at the 2016 MXGP of USA at Glen Helen last weekend. The two-year contract with GEICO Honda’s 250 program means Martin will match the rest of the team in Alias gear, 6D helmets, 100% goggles, and Alpinestars boot, but there are a few personal touches to his kit. As one of the smaller guys on the starting line, we figured there’d be a few size modifications to his pants or jersey. We were right.

SIZE | Small

"The shell is size small and he uses the thickest cheek pads we have. Since it was a hot day he used our Super Cool summer liner, which is foam like what's used in skid plates. It wicks away the moisture and keeps his head cool." – Dominick Vandenburg

Martin doesn't like anything near his face, so he removed the rubber roost guard that runs at the top of the chin bar.

For the bright outdoor rounds, Martin ran the Acurri model frame with a smoke tinted lens and laminated tearoffs.

SIZE | Small

"It has a custom fit, so it's kind of in between a small and a medium. We went a little shorter on the sleeves and kept the majority of the jersey as a production size small. The jersey was made of mesh to help with the heat of Glen Helen.

"We're pretty good with the factory that does the sublimation for our jerseys, so they're always on top of it for us. There have been times when we've gotten jerseys made in two days. We had to run a bunch of fire drills to make this work. We were able to custom make everything in less than two weeks, and it was amazing with the whole crew at Alias to see what we accomplished." – Bruce Marada

SIZE | Youth Extra-Large

"It's a standard production glove, right off the shelf." – Marada

New look. Jeremy Martin's jump to GEICO Honda means a full makeover in the apparel department and he will wear Alias MX apparel like the rest of the team. We got a quick rundown of his new threads on Saturday afternoon and as you'd expect, most sizes are on the small side. Check back later for more.

SIZE | 28

"It's tailored to fit Jeremy. It's a 28 waist, but we brought everything else in to keep it fit. He had two sets of gear for practice and for the race he had three sets, so he had a brand new set for each race. In practice, he wore our 2017 A1 Analog in white and navy, and during the race, he had the 2017 A2 Brushed in red and neon yellow." – Marada

Ossur CTi
SIZE | Custom

Ossur now owns the rights to CTi, the “original sports knee brace.” Worn beneath the pants and seldom seen, a custom made pair supports Martin’s knees.

SIZE | 8

The always-popular Tech 8 is Martin's preferred boot in the Alpinestars line, as he likes the grip of the sole and the feel of the controls. His time with the brand has been brief, so there is a chance he could end up in another model from the company.
