Josh Grant | Motos At Milestone
Every offseason, talk from the test tracks include Josh Grant’s speed and how they veteran racer is turning some of the fastest laps of the pro scene no matter where he goes. Although it happens almost annually, it somehow still takes spectators by surprise. Before we proceed, let us clarify that is not a slight at Grant, but the insiders who forget how fast the Discount Tire/TwoTwo Motorsports/Kawasaki rider can ride a motorcycle around a race track.
With Chad Reed taking it easy earlier this offseason, all of the testing responsibilities fell on JG33. As soon as he threw a leg over the bike, he and the staff of TwoTwo techs began work on making their KX450F the best it could possibly be. While Reed raced the Motocross of Nations with Ohlins Suspension, Grant has apparently stayed with the standard Showa components the entire time.
While at Milestone on Thursday morning, we watched Grant click off lap after lap on the Supercross course, staying within inches of the same line each time around. Grant has ridden a number of bikes in his time on the pro scene, and 2015 marks the first time he’s raced a Kawasaki since a brief stint on Jeff Ward Racing in 2012.
