The last month has been hectic for the CycleTrader/Rock River Yamaha team. After parting ways with Bradley Taft at the end of the Monster Energy Supercross Series, the team picked Hayden Mellross to fill the spot for the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in the 250 class. Unfortunately, things came undone for Mellross and the team at Hangtown when Mellross collided with the support cables for the on-track signage and suffered a broken scapula, an injury that will sideline him for an extended period.

With Mellross now out, the team has tapped Martin Castelo to fill-in through the next few weeks, beginning this weekend at the 2018 Thunder Valley Motocross round in Colorado. Castelo contested the first two rounds of the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with support from IBcorp Racing team, but there were no plans to run the full series with the independent effort. Castelo posted 16-17 moto scores at the 2018 Glen Helen Motocross for sixteenth overall.
