In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We’ll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
The eighth-annual TransWorld SLAM Festival, presented by Alta Motors and Monster Energy, went off this weekend at Milestone MX Park. Over 3500 people entered the gates of the popular SoCal venue over the three-day event and the highlight of the weekend was without a doubt the SLAM Pro Race. This year, the big winner was four-time Arenacross Champion Tyler Bowers, who turned in consistent 2-2 scores in the pair of five-lap sprint races. A brand-new father, Bowers was glad to take home the $5000 lion’s share of the $10,000 purse. “The dads came out and took it all home,” he joked, referring to both himself and runner-up Cole Martinez, who is also a new father.
