Rome, Ga. - Pirelli-backed Bobby Garrison won Round 2 of the World Off Road Championship Series race at Mesquite MX park in Mesquite, Nev., winning wire-to-wire aboard his Zip-Ty Racing Factory Yamaha.
During the two-hour-plus race the Yamaha rider, riding with the Pirelli Scorpion Tire, earned the number-one position after passing early leader Kyle Summer’s KTM motorcycle. Heading into the third round of the series, Garrison sits second in points to Kurt Caselli, the KTM reigning series champion.
“Bobby struggled during the opening round of the series, but he rebounded at round two to win the overall,” said Pirelli Off-Road MX Manager Josh Whitmire. “Hopefully Bobby can turn in another solid finish at Round 3 of the series at Crazy Horse GP in Lake Havasu.”
En route to the victory, Garrison beat top WORCS competitors Damon Huffman, of the Monster Energy Kawasaki and podium finishers Caselli and Kawasaki’s Ricky Dietrich, who rounded out the podium positions.
Round 3 of the WORCS takes place at Lake Havasu’s Crazy Horse GP March 14-16.
