The morning timed qualifying sessions have just come to a close at the 2018 Thunder Valley Motocross, round three of the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. While the layout is not much different than years past, riders still spent the morning figuring out how to ride their motorcycles with the slightly reduced power from the elevation. Clear, cool weather and a perfectly groomed layout should provide exceptional racing when the gate drops later today.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Joey Savatgy always seems to ride well in Colorado. During the morning sessions Savatgy was the only rider in the 250 class to post a lap in the 2:06 range and with that, his 2:06.926 put him at the top of the scoreboard.

Even though this is Eli Tomac’s “home race,” the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider doesn’t have the best record on the Colorado course. He’s looking to change that today and in qualifying, he was the fastest rider of the 450 class with a 2:05.848 time.
