LOS ANGELES, CA (March 21, 2012) - The Rockstar Energy Racing Teams absolutely dominated the 2012 Spring Nationals, with Star Valli Yamaha capturing a stunning 13 titles and 20 podiums, while Rockstar Energy Racing Elite brought home an outstanding eight podiums and 15 top-10 finishes. The Spring Nationals took place over the course of several weeks and included motocross races at Freestone County Raceway in Wortham, TX; Oak Hill Raceway in Dacatur, TX; and MillCreek MX Park in Pell City, AL.
Leading the charge for Star Valli Yamaha was Cooper Webb, who joined the team this year to contend the B and Schoolboy classes. Over the course of the events, Webb was a constant front-runner and a consistent racer, finishing on the podium in almost every race. Webb brought home six titles plus four additional podiums.
"Cooper is new to the Rockstar family this year," said Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Manager James Hanson. "I'm very pleased to have him as an addition to the program. Any team would enjoy a kid who can bag that many titles. I look forward to watching him grow into a top A-class rider after what is, no doubt, a great start to his B-class season thus far."
Star Valli Yamaha teammate Jeremy Martin is new to the team, but he's been part of the Rockstar family for several years. Focused and ambitious, Martin reeled off moto win after moto win, and nearly swept the A and Pro classes at MillCreek by collecting three titles out of a possible four. In total, Martin carded seven titles plus three additional podiums.
"I want to win," said Martin. "I'm planning on doing the last four Outdoor Nationals this season, where everybody is a bad dude. I'm going to be ready and going in with confidence."
Added Hanson: "We have been working with Jeremy for a long time now, since the days on his 85. He has always had as much or more drive than any rider I have ever been around. I was ecstatic to find out that he was going to be with us again this year, and I'm not surprised to see him winning consistently.
Representing the Rockstar Energy Racing Elite Amateur Team at the Spring Nationals, Jace Owen demonstrated that he is one of the top contenders in the B class. After ripping several holeshots and running up front consistently, Owen notched two titles plus three additional podiums.
Rockstar Energy Racing Elite teammate Daniel Baker joined the team this year while almost seamlessly transitioning from mini bikes. Although Baker could only participate in the MillCreek race, he still secured two out of three possible podiums.
Also new to Rockstar Energy Racing Elite is Eric Goodson, an A-class rider who had some bad luck. Despite this, Goodson was fast throughout and made short shrift of the field when he suffered a get-off. Goodson picked up two top-10 results overall in Alabama.
Finally, teammate Michael Mosiman returns to the Rockstar fold, but as an addition to the Elite team to contest the 85cc classes. Overall, Mosiman scored five top-10 finishes over the course of the events, including a podium finish at MillCreek. He was also able to pick up a third-place overall in the very competitive 85 12-13 Mod class.
"We're proud of all of our Rockstar amateur athletes and teams," said Hanson. "All of these young riders are tremendously talented, and excellent additions to our overall program. We look forward to nurturing these riders and helping them move up in their respective motocross careers."
