Learning the mechanical workings of a motorcycle is an extremely daunting task. The countless parts that make up something as important as a fork leg or shock must be created and installed with pinpoint accuracy, and any mistake could yield a catastrophic result. Then how do you learn to work on these components? Tearing things apart to see their insides and hoping for results through trial and error is one method, but it is much easier and rewarding to be taught by a seasoned expert, like the crew at Race Tech. Twice a year, the suspension tuning company opens their doors to new students and leads them through every aspect of shocks and forks, from basic concepts to the most in-depth engineering principals. We followed one seminar through a Wednesday at Milestone MX Ranch in Riverside, CA, where they saw how riders and suspension technicians communicate with one another and dial in settings for a perfect ride.
