The Terra Firma Race Series presented by SPY is back after only a seven day break, as round four of the five round series is set to commence this Sunday at Sunrise MX, so we hope you’ve got some left in the tank from round. The Terra Firma Race Series has brought out so many new faces every weekend, and we're excited to see who will join us this weekend for another exciting day of racing.

Formally known as Racetown 395, the Sunrise MX facility saw a revamping of sorts a few years ago when Competitive Edge MX’s owner and operator Mark Belman reopened the establishment with a new name and updated track layouts. The original Racetown main track housed some of our favorite jumps, and even though most are no longer standing today the track crew at Sunrise has still managed to sculpt a facility that's one of our favorite destinations in Southern California.

The Terra Firma Race Series has implemented a new racing format strategy to not only cut way down on time, but to further rider safety. Essentially, the track that the rider lines up for depends on their level of skill. For those that are unfamiliar with our two-track racing format, here’s how it breaks down:

  • All riders in the Intro and Beginner classes – from peewees all the way up to vets – will line up for the “Amateur” track. Otherwise known as the Vet track.
  • All riders lining up for age-bracketed classes and everything from the Novice class on up will compete on the “Expert” or main track.

Whether you’re a current pro or a first time peewee rider, we have a class for you. We have over 60 different classes to choose from at every round to ensure that you feel right at home competing with other racers of the same skill set.
