Practice times are in for the 2018 Spring Creek Motocross, round eight of the series. With plenty of rain leading up to the weekend’s race, the sandy soil quickly became rough and the ruts were already becoming deep. As a result, those racers who could find smooth lines and conserve energy were able to capitalize on the track conditions and set fast lap times. Justin Cooper put his Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha at the top of the board with a 2:13.729, but Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Joey Savatgy logged a nearly identical lap time that put him into second.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac set the only time below a 2:13 in the morning and thus landed atop the board. It is important to note that Red Bull KTM rider Marvin Musquin set his fastest time in the second session when the track was more developed.
