That's a wrap. The 2017 Fall Classic, presented by SPY, is officially in the books, as we ended the series off with our final stop of the year at Glen Helen Raceway. Thanks to our staff and all of the racers, the 2017 Fall Classic was another unforgettable series full of exciting racing, along with plenty of action on and off of the track. Over 400 racers joined us at notorious Glen Helen Raceway for the series finale, as well as the last day of racing in 2017.
Throughout the series, many riders impressed us with their dominating performances and relentless racing. TWMXRS regular, Luke Kalitzian, did just that at our series finale, as he shredded the San Bernardino, CA track aboard his 125cc two-stroke. The kid out of Sun Valley, CA put together one of the best days of racing we have seen, ultimately earning five moto wins and three overall class victories.
Along with the TWMXRS regulars, round five of the 2017 Fall Classic, presented by SPY, also brought out some racers that we haven’t seen for some time. Michael Witcher, among those unfamiliar faces, came out to Glen Helen Raceway to do some battle in the Pro classes. The racer out of Menifee, CA had some pressure during his first moto from Matthew Hubert, but after a crash from Hubert, Michael raced his way to four moto wins on the day. Along with the moto wins, Michael took home an overall win in both the Pro Open(125-450) class and the Pro(450F) class.
The series finale held many great battles and a majority took place in the Intermediate 250F motos, as the class had never seemed so stacked. Within the opening laps of the first moto, Max Lee and Braden O'Neal battled for the lead as the rest of the class fought for positions behind. Despite a second place to O'Neal in the first moto, Max Lee ended up taking the overall win in the Intermediate 250F class. However, the Corona, CA resident's triumph didn’t stop there, as he also earned the overall win in the Intermediate 450F and Open Non-Pro classes.
TWMXRS regular, Preston White, was the lucky winner of the 2018 Yamaha YZ450F. Though he may be a-bit too small for the bike now, he was definitely stoked to have won a bike for his dad. "Dad, I won you a bike!"
Though the 2017 TWMX Race Series is over, we are excited for a new year of racing starting January 14th. We would like to thank all of you who attended one of our races, as well as all of our awesome sponsors who help put on the race series. We wish you all happy holidays and hope to see you at Glen Helen Raceway January 14th for the start of the 2018 season.
