In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory...
In honor of today's 7th annual MTA Two-Stroke World Motocross Championship, today's "Photo Of The Day" features last year's winner Mike Sleeter. Although this photo wasn't taken during the actual event, it's still one of my favorites from the feature we did on Sleeter's KTM 300SX for the 2015 Two-Stroke National – where he took home the overall win. I remember getting video updates every few days from Sleeter on the progress he had made throughout the entire build because he was so excited to get it done, and I was fortunate enough to test the beast machine alongside Sleetdawg as he prepared for the annual race. I am an avid two-stroke fanatic, so to be given the opportunity to ride Mike Sleeter's 300 was something I'll never forget – especially for how powerful it was.
This year's Two-Stroke Championship at Glen Helen Raceway is going to be one for the books, as it's stacked with some of the fastest racers our sport has to offer, but there's no doubt in my mind that Sleeter will be up there with the best. Good luck today, buddy!
