In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

A few weeks ago, Swap and I were invited to shoot in the hills of Reche Canyon, CA with a slew of talented riders including whip connoisseur Tyler Bereman. In case you haven't seen or heard, Bereman is one of today's most talented free-riders, and the number 653 even has the ability to school almost anyone on a motocross track thanks to his many years as a racer. The Northern California native developed his stylish ways around the amateur circuit racking up several championships – one of which from Loretta Lynn's in the ever-competitive Intermediate division.

Since then, Bereman has transitioned into a program/lifestyle in stark contrast to that of a professional racer, as he spends much of his time play riding in the hills developing his skills, but it's all for the good because the whip perfectionist has undoubtedly found his calling as a professional dirt bike rider.

I flicked this image not even 10 minutes into shooting on this particular day. Bereman wasted no time in showing a little drain plug for my camera, and this was the result. Bereman is a total blast to shoot with because this dude isn't afraid to send it, and I'm already looking forward to our next encounter in the hills.
