“The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship headed to Crawfordsville, Indiana, for the final round at Ironman Raceway. The course at Ironman was finally put to the test after a crazy storm destroyed last years track, and it provided some of the best racing of the entire series. The ruts were insane all day long despite multiple track maintenance sessions, and it provided one of the gnarliest courses we’ve had all year. The scenery at Ironman is awesome with a lot of trees lining the track, which is pretty rare these days except for Washougal, with most tracks actually cutting down trees for easier camera access for television. Ironman is actually my hometown National and I live less than an hour away, and this year I brought my family out for my wife and son’s first outdoor race. They had a blast with near perfect weather all day long and great racing in both classes. The big story coming into the weekend was the 250 championship fight between Jeremy Martin and Marvin Musquin with only two points separating them heading into the final motos, but a mechanical failure on the opening laps of moto one spelled disaster for Musquin, and Martin went on to successfully defend his outdoor title for 2015. We’re finally off for a few months but there are plenty of off season races to get your moto fix. Enjoy the Bangers!” —TWMX photographer Ryne Swanberg
