The definition of free in the dictionary couldn't hit the nail on the head better when it comes to free riding. While much of our sport revolves around racing as quickly as possible to the checkered flag, the essence of hitting an open space and creating your own expression always remains at the heart of why most people started riding. Gather, shovel, ride, repeat. For some, the hills are an imaginary place only seen in videos and magazines. For the No Namers, they are the creators and this is their world. Respect is always earned and never given. Vinnie Carbone is a shovel ace with skills to match, and he blessed Josh Hansen to shine some of his natural talent across the green valley alongside him during an evening session this spring. These are the days to remember.

Twenty-four hours, a 30 pack of Tecates, three bundles of firewood, two tents, one can of Hungry-Man Chili, and a sprawling desert landscape to play in. You can escape into another world on your dirt bike and be back home the next morning if you plan accordingly. Dustin Nowak headed out to explore the vast California valley known only as Ocotillo Wells, and conquered some big hits and had some fun just in time for the sun to go down for a birthday celebration.

Craft beer, hipsters, thousands of bicycles, one homie-built launch ramp, and countless hits. The fun started at The One Moto Show, and we kept it moving all around the city. It’s better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission--Jimmy Hill knows the rules of engagement and walked away with more than a few goodies this day. No one even heard him coming...
