In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
It was just announced earlier this week that Geico Honda's RJ Hampshire has renewed his contract for an additional two years and he will contest the 250 class through 2020. This is exciting news for the Florida native who signed with the team after winning the Amateur All-Star division at the 2013 Monster Energy Cup. Hampshire has shown flashes of brilliance on several occasions throughout his short career, and after a busy off-season of attending a number of overseas races he's looking to bring the consistency next year in hopes of making the 2018 racing season one to remember.
Hampshire has spent his entire professional career aboard a Honda CRF250R, but for 2018 the red machine is fully redesigned and completely revamped from the ground up for the better, and with the helpful guidance of the newly appointed Geico Honda Team Manager Dan Betley, it would appear that Hampshire is in line to experience a breakthrough year of racing. We'll just have to wait and see what happens on the East Coast.
