In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…
The countdown to Anaheim One is nearing the end, as round one of the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross Series is set to kick off this Saturday at Angel Stadium. The premier class competitors are looking as strong as ever with the addition of a few new faces to the lineup, but the 250 class is what I'm looking forward to the most. Although the machines aren't as powerful as the big 450s, the riders are more than capable of going just as fast, and more often than not there's always one rookie that isn't afraid to dice it up with the big boys of the class.
Geico Honda's Chase Sexton has the potential to fill that role, as his professional racing debut is scheduled for this Saturday alongside teammate Christian Craig. Sexton's SX debut was originally slated for the 2017 Atlanta SX, but a practice crash postponed his first professional gate-drop on a Supercross track. The Illinois native has since made a full recovery and has logged plenty of laps at this point, plus he's fully aware of what to expect when he rolls into the Angel Stadium tunnel for the first time after getting a small taste last year in ATL.
