In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

As a race fan, I selfishly waited for Dylan Ferrandis to race in the United States. I first met him at the 2014 Motocross of Nations in Latvia when he was a part of the victorious French team and followed his results in the Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship in the years since. Ferrandis always made it a point to tell the masses that his ambitions were to race the Monster Energy Supercross Series in the United States, and after seeing him race one-off events like Paris-Lille, there was little doubt that a team would bring him to this part of the world.

Ferrandis did well in his first season of Supercross, with two podiums being the highlight, but I have a feeling he could be a surprise to the American fans in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. Remember that the Yamalube/Star Racing/Yamaha rider was one of the few to give Jeffrey Herlings fits on the MXGP scene, and with more “traditional” riding next on the schedule, this should benefit Ferrandis. Keep an eye on him this summer…
