In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

James Stewart might have invented the scrub, but the Europeans have taken it to a new level. We’ve seen shots of Tim Gajser, Valentin Guillod, Romain Febvre, and others as they throw their bikes completely sideways over obstacles at rounds of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross World Championship, and over the weekend Thomas Kjer-Olsen showed his skill on the massive single at the 2017 MXGP of USA. I watched the racer from Denmark closely during Saturday’s practice session and it seemed like he managed to get the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing MX2 bike even lower to the ground each time he hit the infield jump.

Kjer-Olsen has ridden very well in this year’s tour, as a number of podium finishes and moto wins have ranked him third in the MX2 championship. With a few more years of eligibility in the class and a lengthy contract with the team, he will be a title contender in future seasons.
