In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

It’s tough to imagine the pressure of a professional motocross racer as they walk toward the gate on any given weekend. For a racer like Zach Osborne, last Saturday’s mud fest could have easily been the x-factor that changed a lot in the points standings. With a track covered in rain, multiple delays, and already having lined up once and brought back to the pits due to lightning, one would think Osborne  just wanted to make it through the day and salvage. Wrong. When we interviewed him about the nerves, he mentioned instead of worrying about the potential disasters rain can present he focused his energy into thinking about the potential success the conditions could bring him. He wound up with 3-5 finishes for third overall and kept his massive points lead sizable heading into Budds Creek. Championship thinking for a rider who may earn his first Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship this weekend if he keeps the path he’s on. This shot of him walking down to his gate stood out to me as a picture of the mental toughness needed to be a top-level racer.
