In between races, we took some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory…

Sometimes seeing how others roll makes you step back and appreciate their style. Such was the case yesterday when we headed to the well-known Hawaiian North Shore Kahuku Motocross track to spin some laps with Tyler Bereman via the Weedmaps Pipehouse V2 trip. Local ripper Donovan Canionero was on hand, and he had a blast as him and Tyler ripped around the scenic circuit. The humble local Hawaiian local has raced all over and is one of the fastest on the island, and has even made the trek to Loretta Lynn’s to chase his dream. This shot is him just after a moto, and it had Hawaiian vibes written all over it. Donovan wasn’t wearing the latest and greatest gear many are so used to wearing, was super fast and stylish, and was very quiet and humble. The point is, being locked on an island makes “normal” things like riding that much more appreciated because everything is shipped over and more expensive and Donovan makes it happen with minimal flashiness. It was nice meeting him and the great people that had us out, and it made me appreciate having everything at my disposal so easily back home. Mahalo!
