Now that the offseason is here, we've got some time to browse our hard drives and look at photos taken throughout the year. We'll highlight each shot in a daily post, with the image sized to fit your computer screen or smartphone and described with a small backstory...
As many of you have probably already seen, we are deep into filming of our latest video project aptly named PREMIX, which will feature a two-stroke only lineup! There are plenty of heavy hitters in line to burn some premix for our cameras, and a bunch that have already filmed segments. This is a can’t miss video, that is a guarantee!
The very first guy that had the chance to film a ripping a segment was Shane McElrath, and I was on hand at Zaca Station MX Park to document the day. Shane had been riding motos on his factory Troy Lee Design’s KTM 250SX-F, and we arranged to film him on a KTM 150SX two stroke. We got him all dialed and advised him to burn some test laps so he could get comfortable on it for filming. About eight laps later we essentially had to wave him off the track for a break, and Shane pulls his helmet off with a huge smile and says “This is so fun!” It’s simply awesome to see someone at his level ride a two stroke, and third gear wide open through this corner not only looked, but sounded amazing too! (Note that ever so important finger on the clutch.) You’ll have to get your hands on a copy in November available on Black Friday!
