Scanned | A Week of Film in Florida

For the Photo Nerds

Photos and Words by Mike Emery | @emeryphoto

With everything at the touch of our fingertips in 2017, it’s easy to take for granted that you can have anything you could ever want at an instant moment on your phone. While this is rad, it’s still good to remember the roots of where “instant” photos came from – Polaroid cameras being at the forefront years and years ago. I picked this old (45+ years old to be exact) Polaroid Land Camera up a few years back and decided to bring it along on the trip to Florida for Daytona. Check out some real film old-school instant satisfaction through the lens of this beast. It’s super tough to focus, the settings are sometimes literally a shot in the dark, sometimes the shutter sticks and the photo it either ruined or blurry, but every photo good or bad is satisfying and fun. I had these scanned to share with my fellow photo nerds out there…enjoy!
