AMA PRO MOTOCROSS
Southwick, MA – June 30, 2018
No question Eli Tomac was the fastest man on the track, working his way through the pack, making a last lap pass to take the Moto 1 win. In Moto 2, Tomac had a solid lead most of the race, but a couple crashes and some bent bike parts netted Tomac a 2nd in that race and 2nd overall for the day.
Dylan Ferrandis upped his game this week by taking the overall win in the 250cc Division. Ferrandis posted 4-1 Moto finishes in what turned out to be one of the most exciting races of the series to date.
You could tell by his pair of solid starts and his Moto 1 win that this would be Austin Forkner’s weekend – but a Moto 2 collision while leading the race took him out of the running for the overall win.
Aaron Plessinger posted 3-7 Moto finishes to take 5th overall on the day.
Cooper Webb returned to racing this weekend on what is known as one of the toughest tracks on the circuit. His 8-9 Moto finishes netted him an 8th overall in the 450cc Division.
AMERICAN FLAT TRACK
Lima, Ohio – June 30, 2018
It was another classic performance by AFT Twins champion Jared Mees as he placed his Bell Race STAR on top of the podium for his 8th overall win of the season. This was definitely a “home track” win for Mees as he and his wife, Nicole, are the race promoters for this event.
Henry Wiles keeps proving each week that his skill set includes the longer race track, as he captured another podium this weekend in Ohio.
Ryan Wells had an impressive round of Heat races and Semi wins and finished 2nd overall in the AFT Singles division.
Round 8 – Assen, Netherlands – June 30, 2018
Brad Binder’s 7th place finish in the Moto 2 Division was a strong improvement from a double-digit qualifying position. Binder is holding the 7th overall position in the season standings with eleven rounds remaining.
