We're officially two rounds into the 2015 TransWorld Motocross Fall Classic and already looking forward to round three of the seven race series. A record breaking 700+ riders entered the gates this weekend to try their hand at a first place trophy. Let's not forget about this summer heat, either! The high 90 temperatures were amongst the many obstacles today on top of one of the roughest Milestone MX race tracks we've ever seen. That's the name of the game, though, when over 700 of Southern California's fastest racers literally tear up a motocross track.
Vendor row had all the goodies again, as Bell Helmets stayed for the weekend's festivities to show the Fall Classic riders what some of the best helmets in the game are like. BTO Sports was on hand, as well, with everything from pit boards and umbrellas to lanyards and moto-mats. Nearly everything needed for a day of racing was in stock on vendor row.
Once the racing got underway and the 700+ riders hit the race tracks, the excitement was at an all time high, as fans and family members cheered on their favorite riders. Yamaha rider Renton Minuto had a very consistent day of racing. The Avalon, CA native put on a clinic in both motos of Schoolboy (thru 17) for the overall and finished with a 2-1 for another overall in 250 Intermediate, as he just edged out fellow YZ rider, Tyler Rosa. Jake Mohnike was another Yamaha rider to have a solid day of results, as he won the overall in Pro-Open and swept both motos of 450 Pro for a total of three moto wins. Tristen James and Kai Mukai pulled out all the stops in 250 Pro, but it was the 309 of James who ultimately edged out the "Flyin Hawaiian" for the overall with a final score of 1-2. Trevor Hooten also made a clean sweep of the blazing fast 450 Intermediate division, as he cleaned house with both moto wins.
We hope to see you at the third round of the 2015 TWMX Fall Classic, which will be held at LA County Raceway on the 11th of October.
