Alex Frye made the trek from the East Coast to put some laps in on the Southern California tracks and do a little racing in preparation for the new year.  The Orange Brigade rider put in some solid laps on a day when the 250 Intermediate class was very stacked with fast riders.  Frye is an accomplished rider with strong results through his years on 65’s and 85’s and has made a strong showing as he has transitioned to the full size bikes.  If his showing at the Muscle Milk TWMX Race Series is any indication, he will be a major force in the 250 B class this year at the nationals.  Frye had some great battles on the track and showed his skills as he tackled one of the area’s premier tracks.
What brings you out to California and to the TWMX Race Series?
I am testing with KTM.  We are getting my bike all dialed with suspension and everything and we thought it would be a good idea to come out and race to see how the bike works in real conditions.
Do you come out here often?
No, this is only my second time here.  It’s a lot different out here, the tracks are all real hard packed.  Back home it is lots of ruts and stuff so it is definitely a lot different.
What do you think of this TWMX Race Series round so far?
I think it is great that a magazine puts on a race.  There are definitely a lot of people here and a lot of great competition today.
How did you get started riding?
I started riding when I was about 4 years old when my dad bought me an XR50 and I rode trails for about 2 or 3 years.  When I was around 7 or 8 I started racing and have been racing ever since.
What is your biggest accomplishment so far?
Definitely winning Loretta’s twice, that is the biggest so far.  Really looking forward to winning it this year and many more times also.
What is your plan for motocross?
 My goal is to make a decent living at it and just continue to have fun at it. That’s the main thing, keep having fun.
What do you do for training?
I usually do cardio.  I started training at the Rockwell gym out here in California, so I will be doing their online program when I get back home.  We will how that is and I am really happy to start it.
What other activities do you do outside of motocross?
That’s really all I do, I don’t really have much time to try a lot of other things so about all I do is ride and train.
What are your plans for 2013?
My plans are to go to Mill Creek and Daytona.  We will come out here for Mammoth to race and go to Loretta’s.  I am really looking forward to some good results this year.
