TWMXRS FALL CLASSIC | ROUND FIVE | GLEN HELEN RACEWAY
That's a wrap! The 2018 TWMX Fall Classic series is officially in the books, as we ended the series off with our final stop of the year at Glen Helen Raceway. Despite having received some heavy rainfall in the days leading up to the series finale, the crew at Glen Helen got both the facility and tracks prepared for race day. With epic track conditions, hundreds of talented racers, and an ultra fast course, the 2018 Fall Classic series finale was one for the books. There seemed to be a trend of each bike class having a dominate racer at the Fall Classic series finale, and Landen Gordon took the top step in the premiere 65cc classes. The youngster out of Atascadero, CA swept both the 9-11 years 65cc and Open 65cc (No Beginners) classes, and seemed to do so with ease. However, after earning four moto wins, Landen's success didn’t end in the 65cc class, as he also managed to grab a third place finish in the first moto of the 0-11 years 85/150F class. Solid ride, Landen! Monster Energy Team Green's Ryder Difrancesco came out to Glen Helen Raceway to do battle in the 85cc classes. The elite amateur racer's speed and skills were apparent, as he dominated both the 12-13 years 85/150F and Big Wheel Open 85/150F classes aboard his Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX85. Ryder snagged almost every holeshot in the 85cc classes and led arguably the largest number of laps on the day, ultimately earning the win in every moto he lined up for. Though it's nearly a full year away, watching Ryder tear up the track on a Supermini sparked some early excitement and eagerness for next year's Transworld Motocross Mini Major. Along with the series regulars, some first-time TWMXRS racers joined us for the Fall Classic series finale. Levi Newby made his TWMXRS debut at Glen Helen, aboard his new ride with the JMC Motorsports Racing team. Levi made his presence known, as he swept both the Intermediate 450F and Open Non-Pro classes, and even gave the racers in the Pro classes a run for their money. With four moto wins and having clicked off some of the fastest laps of the weekend, we'd say Levi had a pretty solid day at the races. With round five of the Fall Classic series being the final TWMXRS event of the 2018 year, it was time for our annual bike give-away. After having picked the winning ticket on his first try, Wyatt Roysdon became the lucky owner of a 2019 Yamaha YZ250F. Though, he may currently be a-bit small for the bike, he was definitely pumped to have won a bike for his dad. Congrats, Wyatt!
