TWMXRS Fall Classic | Round Four | Perris Raceway
Round four of the 2018 TWMXRS Fall Classic series is officially in the books, as we ventured out to Perris Raceway, last weekend, for an action-packed day of racing. It had been nearly four months since our last TWMXRS race at the iconic Perris, CA facility, so we were eager to get racing underway. With two perfectly prepped tracks, an amazing weather forecast, and nearly 400 anxious racers, the fourth round of the Fall Classic proved to be another exciting day at the races.Being that the class is already one of the most competitive on the circuit, with nearly 20 talented youngsters on the gate the Open 85-150F/Supermini class was destined to have some exciting racing. Though the gates were packed with talent, Talon Hawkins seemed to dominate the class with ease, as he finished each moto with a shocking gap on the rest of the competition. However, Talon's success didn’t stop on the small-bike, as he swept the 125cc Open class at his first ever race aboard a big-bike. After an almost perfect weekend at our 2018 Mini Major, it was no surprise to see Talon out front. Though, the youngsters style and speed on a bike continues to impress us. The Intermediate classes also provided some exciting racing, as Otto Berton had to fend off both Teddy Weeks in the Intermediate 250F class and Dylan Gaszak in the Intermediate 450F class. Despite a second place finish in moto two of the Intermediate 250F class, Otto Berton's consistency earned him the overall victory in the class. The Canyon Lake, CA resident's triumph didn’t halt there, as Otto was able to snag the second moto win in the School Boy class and take home another class overall win. Though a DNF hindered Otto's chances at possibly another overall win in the Intermediate 450F class, he still walked away with three moto wins and two class victories on the weekend. With nearly 20 designated Vet classes at the TWMXRS, it's easy to say a good chunk of our racers are over the age of 25. Amongst the Vet racers, Spenser Wernli had a picture perfect race weekend, as he walked away with four moto wins. The Menifee, CA resident swept both the Vet Int Open and 30+ Intermediate classes, resulting in overall class victories in both of the classes. Solid ride, Spenser!
