TWMXRS Terra Firma Series | Round Five | Milestone MX Park
And that's a wrap! The 2018 TWMX Terra Firma Series is officially in the books, as we concluded the thrilling series with round five at Milestone MX Park. The extreme summer heat joined us and the Terra Firma series one last time, as temperatures broke a hundred-degrees yet again. However, despite the exhausting temperatures, 545 racers filled the Riverside, CA facility and prepared for battle. In preparation of the Terra Firma series finale, as well as the Transworld Motocross SLAM Fest, the crew at Milestone flipped around the track and provided racers with an all-new course. With the days running up to the Terra Firma series being included in the 2018 TWMX SLAM Fest, racers had the opportunity to take part in many different exciting events. One of those events being the SLAM Flat Track racing, which took place Saturday night. TWMXRS regular and well known ripper, Kelana Humphrey took advantage of the extra racing and raced his KTM 65SX to the top in the Flat Track races. However, the youngsters success didn’t end there, as Kelana dominated both the 9-11 years 65cc and Open 65cc classes the next day. Kelana's pure love for dirtbikes and racing makes each race he's apart of even more exciting, congrats on a solid weekend! After contesting in the SLAM Pro Race and Flat Track racing on Saturday, Alex Ray decided to venture out to Milestone MX Park again for the Terra Firma series finale, on Sunday. Though, Alex ran out of time to wash his dirty bike and gear from racing the day before, he did manage to make it to the line in time for the Pro 450F gate drop. It was no surprise to see Alex Ray at the front of the pack in both motos of the Pro 450F class, but watching Alex toss around the number-91 Yamaha YZ450F was certainly entertaining. However, A-Ray is still in search of his Stolen YZ450F, so be on the look out! Though, the TWMXRS is a Southern California based race series, we often attract racers from up north and even other states. At the 2018 Terra Firma series finale, Degan Palmer from St. George, Utah came out and did some damage in both the Intermediate 250F and School Boy (125/250F) classes. Degan immediately made his appearance known in practice, as we caught him holding it wide-open through the outsides of Milestone's track, where others were slowing down for the inside lines. Degan continued to impress after the gate dropped, as he dominated his first two motos and finished with a respectful gap til second place. Though he was faced with some bad luck during the second-moto of Intermediate 250F, Degan still turned many heads with three moto victories and a 1-1 in the competitive School Boy(125/250F) class.
