TWMXRS Terra Firma Series | Round Two | Perris Raceway
Round two of the 2018 TWMXRS Terra Firma series is officially in the books, as we ventured out to the iconic Perris Raceway, this past weekend, for an action-packed day of racing. Despite the high temperatures, nearly 400 SoCal racers showed up to do battle at the popular facility. The course on both the Main and Vet tracks shaped up well throughout the day, as the variety of lines made for some excellent racing in all 28 classes! With the amount of classes that the TWMXRS offers, it often becomes rare to have more than ten racers on a gate. However, the Open 85-150F/Supermini class was as stacked as ever at round two of the Terra Firma series, as 17 youngsters lined the gate. Being that the class is already one of the most competitive on the circuit, the Supermini motos were destined to have some exciting battles. Though the top-5 seemed to be within seconds of each other all day, Stav Orland was the kid to beat, as his consistency throughout the day and win in the second moto closed off his overall class victory. The youngster out of Carlsbad, CA not only took home the overall win in Open 85-150F/Supermini, but also swept the 12-13 years 85/150F class with two dominating wins. Great ride, Stav! Many racers caught our attention at the second round of the Terra Firma series, and one of those riders happened to be our very own test rider, Rene Garcia. Though the School Boy (125/250F) class was full of talent, Rene managed to sweep the class with two moto wins and take home the overall class victory. However, his success didn’t seize there, as Rene also earned another win in the Intermediate 250F class and took home that overall class win as well. Solid riding, Rene! One of the most gratifying outcomes of running a race series is watching our racers skill level grow and develop. From racing mini's to big bike's, Kai Aiello has been a TWMXRS regular for many years. This past weekend, Kai made the move up to the Pro class and did so in an impressive fashion. Though having some pressure from Broc Shoemaker, Kai dominated both the Pro 250F and Pro Open(125-450) classes to snag four moto wins on the day. Pretty impressive Pro class debut for the 17-year old! As always, our long-time series sponsor Spectro Oils was on-hand and in the pits all day. From engine oil to chain lube, Spectro Oils had everything necessary for our TWMXRS racer's bikes. Make sure you stop by their booth at the next race and ask about their products! Also amongst the pits, ASV had a full booth set-up behind their box truck. Their selection of well-tested levers eliminated the stress some of our racers experienced after snapping or bending a lever in practice. Stop by the ASV truck at future TWMXRS events and check out what they have to offer!
