TWMXRS West Coast Open Series | Round Five | Glen Helen Raceway
And that's a wrap! The TWMX West Coast Open Series, presented by AMP ENERGY Organic, has officially concluded for 2018, as we finished the exciting series off at the iconic Glen Helen Raceway. After watching the pros the weekend before, hundreds of TWMXRS racers wanted their shot at the challenging Glen Helen course. After five thrilling rounds across Southern California's popular motocross tracks, the bar-banging action will now have to wait for the upcoming TWMX Terra Firma Series in July.
With the temperatures as high as the TWMXRS has seen this series, hundreds of riders and race fans were eager for an ice-cold beverage. Luckily, AMP ENERGY Organic came to the rescue, as they were on-hand all day to refresh the TWMXRS community. Not only did the crew over at AMP ENERGY Organic provide racers and spectators with a refreshing beverage, but they also awarded each of the AMP ENERGY Organic holeshot recipients with a prize or two. Thanks, AMP ENERGY Organic, for keeping us cool and adding some excitement to the racing, we've never seen racers so eager to snag a holeshot!
From dawn till dusk, the roar of dozens of dirt bikes battling up-and-down Mount St. Helen was heard echoing off of the surrounding hills, however the track didn’t make for all of the excitement that was had at the series finale. Answer Racing brought the Grass Roots Tour out to the TWMXRS for the West Coast Open Series Finale, and catered to all the race series riders and spectators. With games, free food, and promo items; the Answer Racing rig was the spot to be when you weren't bar-banging out on the track. Answer Racing’s very own Nick Wey and Mike Sleeter also provided spectators with some great racing, as the two battled it out in the 30+ Pro class! TWMXRS regular, Matthew Hubert, recently made a huge step in his racing career, as he lined up with the big names at Hangtown and Glen Helen for the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season. After qualifying and racing at the sports most premiere level, Matthew returned to Glen Helen Raceway to join us for the West Coast Open series finale, presented by AMP ENERGY Organic. As we expected, our buddy out of Riverside, CA got it done in both the Pro 450F and Pro Open (125-450) classes, as he won each of his motos and swept both of the challenging classes. Way to go, Matthew! Joshua Correll put together arguably the most dominating performance of the 2018 TWMXRS West Coast Open series finale, presented by AMP ENERGY Organic. The number-42 machine stood on top at each moto it was on the gate, as the youngster out of El Cajon, CA won all 12-13 years 85, Open 85-150F/Supermini, and Big Wheel Open motos. Great start or not, Joshua managed to work his way to the front of the pack each moto to put his name on top, and sweep all three of his classes. Solid ride, Joshua!
